"Let us remember the deceased members of our parish who are now resting in our cemetery or in some other cemetery.  As they departed from us, their names were inscribed in the Death Register.  May Christ Himself write their names in the heavenly Book of Life in the Kingdom of Heaven where Christ is King, His Most Holy Mother, Queen, and where we who are now celebrating this earthly jubilee may hope to celebrate the eternal jubilee of perfect happiness with God."
Rev. John Kaczmarczyk,
on the occasion of
Ss. Cyril and Methodius Church
50th Jubilee (1960)

Most questions regarding St. Joseph Cemetery pertain to our policies.  Here is some information to help you.

  1. Clean-up: Spring clean-up is performed during the week of March 15.  Fall clean-up is performed during the week of September 15 (weather permitting).  Any decorations remaining on the graves by those dates will be removed and discarded.  New decorations may be placed on the graves after the designated clean-up weeks.

  1. Fresh flowers/annuals and potted plants are permitted during the growing season.  Flowers are to be placed as close to the grave marker as possible.

  1. Artificial Flowers:  Are permitted and should be placed as close to the grave marker as possible.

  1. Votive Candles/Solar Lights:  Are permitted, but please place as close to the grave marker as possible.

  1. Planting of perennials, plants, shrubs, bushes, or trees…. The planting of such items is not permitted as these items soon become overgrown and unmanageable.  Please keep your decorations to annuals or artificial flowers.  Thank you!

  1. Decorative stones, wood chips, edging around grave markers, etc. is to be avoided.  Such items pose a safety hazard to the maintenance personnel and anyone else on the property at the time of grass cutting/weed whacking.

  1. Placing of benches:  As of summer, 2009, no additional benches may be placed in the cemetery so as not to infringe upon the grave space of others.  If you must sit down while visiting our cemetery, please use one of the benches already in place.

  1. Walking:  We welcome those who wish to walk around our cemetery for the serenity of it's location; however, please exercise caution because of uneven land formations.  The parish cannot accept liability.

  1. Walking of Pets:  Is permitted, but please keep your pets on leash, and please be courteous to others and clean up after your pets.
